Today, Greenbelt's story is not simply one of environmental consultancy. It is the development of an indigenous environmental engineering and remediation capability designed to support industrial and public-sector clients across the environmental lifecycle.
Greenbelt Tropical Environs Limited was incorporated in 2002 by a multidisciplinary group of environmental and engineering professionals with experience spanning industry, government, and academia.
From its foundation, the company has operated at the intersection of environmental protection, operational requirements, and regulatory compliance, providing services to industry and government where environmental performance, safety, and effective execution are critical.
Over two decades, Greenbelt has expanded its services to include environmental consultancy, waste treatment and management, remediation, tank cleaning, equipment procurement, civil works, pollution and oil-spill control, and fire and safety services.
The company has continued to strengthen its technical capability through regulatory accreditation, professional collaboration, and investment in environmental treatment infrastructure, including the installation of a Global Thermal Solutions (GTS) 10-tonnes-per-hour Thermal Desorption Unit at our operational facility in Warri, Delta State.
More than two decades of building environmental Competence
Greenbelt's history is a progression from professional expertise to established operational capability. It expanded its services, strengthened technical partnerships and invested in infrastructure to address increasingly complex environmental challenges across Nigeria.

Greenbelt's development has been shaped by a simple principle: environmental challenges require more than advice, they require the technical capacity to understand the problem, develop the appropriate response and execute it safely and effectively
The company's foundation in environmental and engineering expertise provided the starting point. Over time, Greenbelt expanded its service capabilities and strengthened its technical relationships while developing the physical infrastructure required to support environmental treatment and remediation activities.
The installation of a Global Thermal Solutions (GTS) 10-tonnes-per-hour Thermal Desorption Unit in 2017, commissioned at the Warri waste management facility in 2018, represents an important part of that evolution: the transition from primarily advisory capability toward greater ownership of environmental treatment infrastructure and operational capacity.
